Yes, we guarantee all of our garage doors for two years from the date of installation and offer a Manufacturer guarantee of up to 10 years depending on door type.
Automating a manual garage door is by all means possible but dependent on the current condition of the garage door. Adding in a motor will help but if the system is still using worn springs or rusted parts then the amount of resistance may be too much for the motor to lift. We can conduct a thorough inspection of your existing garage door and advise on the next steps.
Most garage door suppliers manufacture garage doors at a number of different sizes and all these are classed as ‘standard sizes’ and can range from 6’6″ (or 1981cm) wide, up to 10′ (or 3048cm) wide and from 6’6″ (1981cm) up to 8′ (2438cm) high for single garage doors. Bespoke garage doors can be discussed.

Most standard doors are on a 3 – 4 week turnaround, however, some doors can take 6 – 7 weeks. Access Garage Doors aim to install within 1 week of the doors arriving with us. We hold a large selection of common doors in stock and as such, these times may be reduced. Get in touch to find out more.
Roller shutter garage doors are made from a curtain of thin lathes that roll up into a cylinder above the inside of the garage door. Sectional garage door curtains on the other hand have slightly thicker lathes or “sections” which slide backwards parallel to the garage ceiling when the garage door is opened. Up and Over doors are a single skin of steel with a smooth up and over action.

Yes, a spring can be too strong for a particular garage door. Some might advise that you use larger springs during replacements because they last longer and are only slightly more expensive; a net profit, if you will. This is dangerous thinking. The tension in the larger springs would make the door open with a higher force than is necessary. This might prove dangerous, and can even soil other movable parts in the system.
Your garage door professional would get the appropriate spring for you in most cases but if you want to get it yourself, the first step is to identify the wind-up direction. You then measure the number of coils according to a specified length, the diameter, and the total length of the spring. Finding the most suitable torsion required is easy once you have those measurements.
Personal maintenance is a must if you have a garage door in your house; it does you no good to wait for problems to arise before working on them. It requires little effort on your part as an owner. Greasing the movable parts every once in a while would go a long way in lengthening the life of your garage door.
About twice every year (depending on how frequently you use the door) is enough. Think of your maintenance as the healthy habits you adopt to live an optimal life. The servicing by a professional is more like a medical check-up, where the professional inspects for issues and gives prescriptions for any other potential problems.
There are a lot of problems that cause a garage door not to close. For one, it could be a problem with the transmitter (if the battery is dead). It could also be a problem with the photo beam (It could be misaligned or blocked by debris). Damaged rollers and defective disconnect switches might also cause these problems too.
More often than not, you can predict the type of problem affecting your door by the kind of noise the door is making. A grinding sound tells of a track or roller issue. A rattle makes clear that there are a few loose nuts around. A pop sound tells you that there is a spring issue. You might not be able to predict everything, but another thing you can do is to try to ascertain where the noise is coming from.
Unlike a cracked garage door, a rusty one is easy to revamp. You can use vinegar to wipe off all dust areas, fill any holes with bonding agents, and then wash or paint the door.
Yes, easily. It is a very prudent and cost-effective way to fix your garage door when a panel only is damaged. This is also usually done as a preemptive measure for signs of wear and tear in a garage door.
While it is encouraged for people to take active roles in the maintenance of their garage door, it is not advised that you take matters into your own hands when the door develops a defect. A YouTube video might show you how to safely release the high-tension wires; but in practice, doing this without prior training or experience is immensely dangerous.
